Bikes and Mics: “Don’t Rush” Challenge Motorcycle Video!
Miss your riding buddies? We’re making a “Don’t Rush” challenge video for the BAM: 2020 Riding Season! What better way to stay physically distant, but socially connected, than to make a video about riding our motorcycles!
Wanna join the fun? It’s easy! Here is what you do;
- Wear your everyday clothes, or a dressy dress, or a butchy fit, **just be you doing you**, then record yourself catching your gloves (or other moto item) from the left or the right, top or bottom of the frame!
- Next, use the item to block the camera lens and press pause or stop on your phone or camera.
- Now switch it up! Change your clothes and put on your riding gear, get out your bike, or otherwise transition into your riding-self! Get fancy or wild if you like! Hide the lens with the item, press record (or have someone press record for you), and back away from the lens to record yourself with your bike! You can also film this in two separate clips if it’s easier.
- Finally, toss the moto item to the lens, or to the left, right, top, or bottom for someone else to “catch”. Get creative, have some fun! Some of our favorite examples can be found below!
When you’re done send the video file via email to bam.tamale@gmail.com
We need at least 10 to make it work!

Helpful hints:
- try to film horizontally, but if you go for vertical, we got choo!
- entire video should be about 8-10 seconds total, so shoot for 4 secs of pre, 4 secs for post (reveal)
- show off your personality!
- partner with a friend to have a connected transition! (like a “tug-of-war”, or a “pass a kiss” (one person kisses the lens and the next backs away with a lipstick mark on their cheek) Get creative!
